I spend some time nearly every day on the bike path while I'm here in Florida. I'm getting a little burned out by it. It's almost dead flat and much of it runs along a freeway (The Veterans). This is the stretch along Van Dyke road almost at the parking lot (roughly in the middle of the 7 mile section).
The road riding here is actually pretty good. Most new roads have marked bike lanes. From Aaron's house I can get to grocery stores, a library, Walmart/Target, and a really good pizza place. I haven't found anyplace with those appalling rumble strips blocking off the shoulder like they do in South Carolina. But many roads are just unridable because they're so narrow and the traffic is so intense - All you can do is avoid them.
